I’m a long-term Seattle resident with deep community roots. I’m a lifelong learner with a masters degree in curriculum development and a doctorate in educational leadership.
I’ve lived, traveled, and taught both domestically and internationally entwining formal, informal, traditional, and experienced-based learning models for adults and children.
I draw upon creativity and art consistently. While working with visual, performing, culinary, and botanical arts organizations, I’ve strived to engage the imagination and encourage innovative change models.
One highlight was designing and directing a collaborative exhibit with the US Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC. This interactive exhibit based on real events from the Holocaust was curated for middle school students and teachers. The opportunity to coordinate with Holocaust survivors, scholars, and historians was epic!
I came from a small family business which inspired my entrepreneurial spirit to start my own consulting business in 1998.Teaming up with education departments and professional Teaching Artists from local visual and performing arts organizations, we centered youth voices and systemically-standardized arts education in Seattle Public Schools.
In 2004, I took a hiatus and fulfilled another sort of dream, earning intermediate wine certification from the International Sommelier Guild. My sabbatical included an internship at Chateau Ste. Michelle, and a full-time position as the Assistant Winemaker at EFESTË winery.
